CLIMATE AND WEATHER IN ZAMBIA
Although lying within the Tropic Zone,
much of Zambia enjoys a pleasant subtropical climate because of the high
altitude. The average temperature in Livingstone during July, the coldest month of
the year, is 16° C (61° F); the hottest month, January, has an average
temperature of 32° C (90° F). Annual rainfall ranges from 750 mm (30 in) in
the South to 1,300 mm (51 in) in the north. Nearly all of the rain falls between
November and April.
VISA REGULATIONS - ZAMBIA
On entering ZAMBIA most Countries requested to pay for a Zambian
visa (Single entry visa US$30)
- Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg,
Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA and others. Britain
(US$65 or GB£35). Please note that this list does change from time to
time! It should be used as a guideline only.
ONE-DAY VISITORS from neighbouring
countries have to purchase a "single one-day entry" visa for US$10 or
GB£ 5, which is available at the border post.
Re-entry visa, the cheapest visa -
if
you are already in Livingstone, Zambia and you wish to visit the Victoria Falls
in Zimbabwe, you can receive a RE-ENTRY VISA for only 5000 Zambian
Kwacha - with the rate of 4500:1 US$ that works out to be just over US$1 -
what a bargain! BUT you MUST make a quick visit to the immigration offices in
TOWN! So far they won't issue it for that price at the border (they only issue
the normal visa which can cost up to US$65).

Nationals from the countries listed
below can obtain visas at the border
posts for US$30 or GB£20:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands,
New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, USA, and others.
The following
countries are NOT requested to obtain a visa: UK,
Ireland, Malta, Norway, Sweden, and others.
